Some stories find you. This one found me on a windswept causeway with the tide coming in fast and nowhere to go but forward.
Child of Storm is the first book in a five-part YA fantasy series set along the wild northeast coast of England. Book One takes place on Lindisfarne, Holy Island - a tidal island off the Northumberland coast that has been a place of magic, myth, and pilgrimage for over 1,400 years.
It is a place where the past is never really past. Where Viking raids left more than scars. Where the tides decide who stays and who leaves. And where, if you know where to look, the old magic still breathes.
Child of Storm follows a young protagonist drawn into a world of ancient power, buried secrets, and a conflict that has been waiting centuries to be resolved. It is a story about belonging, about the pull of a place that gets into your blood, and about what happens when the myths you grew up with turn out to be real.
The series will span five books, each set in a different location along the northeast coast of England, weaving together history, mythology, and magic in a landscape that has inspired storytellers for a thousand years.
